Jam Jar Cocktail or Mocktail

This is a handy little drink, because it’s totally portable. You make the entire thing in a jam jar, then you can just screw on the lid and take it with you. I like taking mine to the beach, to the pool, or to a picnic.

You can do this with booze or without, and all of the ingredients are locally sourced! Yeah! Let’s hear it for locally sourced BC Ingredients, and let’s support local this summer!

Oh, and the flavour theme for this one is blueberry, which is soooo seasonal right now!

Jam Jar Cocktail or Mocktail

A simple, tasty, portable cocktail or mocktail, made in a jam jar so it's totally portable.

Equipment

  • 1 jam jar or mason jar with a lid

Ingredients
  

  • ice
  • 1-2 tsp jam Saltspring Kitchen Blueberry Basil
  • 1-2 oz pomegranate juice PoJu
  • sparkling water
  • 1 1/2 oz gin (optional) Arbutus
  • a few blueberries and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Place the ice inside your jam jar.
  • Add the jam to the jar as well.
  • Add the pomegranate juice, and, if using, the gin.
  • Place the lid on and give it a good shake to combine.
  • Take the lid off, and fill to the top with sparkling water.
  • Garnish with blueberries and basil leaves and enjoy!
