Support Canadian Plant-based Businesses!

While I've always been a big supporter of Canadian Plant-based businesses, like everyone, I've become more so in the past couple of months. So I thought I'd compile a list of some of my favourite, Canadian, plant-based businesses, to help you when you go to the grocery store and are wondering what to buy. Buy Canadian!
Proteins:
- Lentils: Canada produces 1/3 of the world's lentils, and 90% of those come from Saskatchewan. So, chances are, if you're buying lentils, they are Canadian. I love them because not only are they high in protein and fibre, mixed with rice, they create a complete protein. They're really cheap (inflation is killing me) and they cook up in like 20 minutes. For more info and recipes, check out Pulses.org.
- Big Mountain Foods: based in BC, they make tasty tasty burgers, ground meat subs and more.
- Oome: a BC owned, women-lead business, they make the tastiest smoked tofu you've ever had.
- Brother Sprout: based out of Newfoundland, they make shelf-stable, soy-based protein. Good value, lasts forever, and loads of possibilities. Here's a recipe to try.
- Sunrise: another BC based tofu company.
