Hippie Snacks Giveaway!!

A few weeks back, I may have attended a trade show (which shall remain nameless). As you probably know, The Wellness Show has been a client of mine for quite some time. But I still often go to competing shows to check out the competition and to help poach new exhibitors.

One of the exhibitors at this particular show as Hippie Snacks.

Now, I’ve long been a fan of their tasty, tasty treats, but at this particular show, they were exhibiting something new: sesame snacks.

Remember when you were a kid, and your mom bought you those sesame snaps to go in your lunch? They were snappy. Sweet. And I remember them getting all gummed up in my teeth.

I think our moms thought that they were healthy. Or maybe healthier than a cookie? Sesame is great–it has protein, and maybe in the grand scheme of things, they are slightly more healthy than cookie. But probably not really by much. They are packed with sugar, for one.

These new Hippie Snack sesame snacks are organic, and contain a lot less sugar. In addition, they’re made with coconut sugar, which scores much lower on the GI than regular sugar (and no corn syrup–that stuff’ll kill ya). In fact, I use coconut sugar quite a bit at home, and in my coffee every morning.

Okay, so whatever, they’re healthier than the old ones. But you know what else?? They taste really good. Like, really, really good. I am buying a case of these and making sure I have some in my purse at all times for hangry moments.

Hippie Snacks also do lots of great healthy snacks–like mixes made with vegetables, and the coconut chips can only be described as addictive.

I’ve also been trying the granolas. There are three new flavours, and they are crunchy, with lots of whole nuts and dried fruits, and not too sweet.

Okay, so I’ve been a fan of these guys for a while, and I still am. I mean, vegan, organic, and really, really tasty. What’s not to like?

    My favourite healthy snack is berries. Every week when I go to the grocery store I buy myself some fresh berries. Strawberries, raspberries or blueberries. Most often I wash them and just enjoy them without any accompaniment. For a treat I will get some low fat vanilla yogurt and a good healthy granola mix and create my own yummy combo with the fruit. Blissful.

  52. My favourite healthy snack is to make up a plate of cantaloupe, honey dew melon, watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and black berries. I eat them without any dip but, occasionally, I will buy a small tub of fruit dip from our local market. It is an expensive snack in the winter, however, the items will occasionally be on sale.
